Meet the Judges: Jim Townsend, Former CPO at WBA

Jim Townsend, Seasoned Procurement Leader
A senior procurement leader of more than 30 years and a familiar face for Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE, Jim Townsend will be joining Ninian Wilson and Alisa Bornstein to judge The Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards.
Experienced in retail, healthcare, materials, aerospace and manufacturing industries, Townsend’s expertise lies in transformation and performance turnaround. He also has a track record of delivering commercial entrepreneurship via innovative supply chain partnerships and ensuring environmental and sustainability governance is embedded into the organisation and supply chain.
As the Former Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) of Walgreen Boots Alliance, Townsend lead the entire procurement function reporting to the Group CFO and covering US$8bn in spend. He operated at the most senior level, influencing, and shaping the agenda to align with and enable the company’s strategic and operational interests.
