Bain & Company: Being successful in procurement in 2022

“So this week I came across some interesting insights from management consulting firm Bain & Company on how procurement leaders can be successful in 2022,” said Wilson. “The insights highlighted that those who are simply ‘buying better’ the year will find that it won’t be enough to navigate the year ahead.”

She added: “Instead more complex goals such as supply chain risk mitigation and resiliency, strengthening strategic partnerships, transparency, and supporting nearshore initiatives will differentiate those that will be successful and those that won’t.”

Meat suppliers failing to prevent future zoonotic diseases

“Then another interesting piece of news came from the meat supplier industry,” said Wilson. “A recent study by investor network Fairr Initiative found that 63% of the big meat, fish and dairy suppliers are failing when it comes to preventing diseases such as COVID-19.”

She added: “The company said that with three out of four new diseases today being ones that cross from animals to humans, it is important for suppliers to be responsible by disclosing information on their conditions and practices, making any necessary changes.”
