JAGGAER and BearingPoint Shape Dumarey Group's Digitisation

JAGGAER and BearingPoint are working together on a joint procurement and supplier quality digitisation process for the Dumarey Group

With more than 2,500 suppliers across dozens of countries, not to mention a turnover which has grown exponentially within just a few years, the Dumarey Group faces an uphill struggle when it comes to efficient management of its commercial relationships.

It’s why the world leader in propulsion solutions for the automotive industry joined forces with the Italian branch of multinational consultancy, BearingPoint, and JAGGAER, a specialist in cloud solutions to support source-to-pay processes, when embarking on a joint procurement and supplier quality digitisation process.

Dumarey's digitisation bid

Digitisation of procurement is playing an increasingly central role in the operations of large enterprises.

According to a recent report published by Gartner, procurement teams can deliver cost savings of 73% and significantly faster execution when they have the necessary technologies at their disposal.

Dumarey partnered with BearingPoint and JAGGAER to streamline its supplier network

Dumarey’s mission was to adopt an innovative, cutting-edge digital procurement system in order to streamline the internal exchange of information with suppliers, while improving data accuracy, certifications and compliance with regulations in every single process. What’s more, the business was looking to enhance collaboration in the application of quality protocols, standardising processes between sites in Turin, Pisa, Strasbourg and Bouthéon.

Offering expertise in the development of agile strategies and solutions in response to changing objectives and priorities, BearingPoint's sourcing and procurement team supported Dumarey in defining the procurement and supplier quality digitisation path to streamline and innovate supplier management processes.

Simultaneously, the functionality and flexibility of JAGGAER's solutions, not to mention its proven experience in the manufacturing and automotive sectors, have made it the ideal technology partner.

"The Dumarey Group is undergoing a corporate renewal pursuing the principles of Sustainability and Governance,” explains Francesco Reynaldi, Head of Supplier Management at the firm’s Turin site.

“In line with the group, the supplier management department, with the collaboration of BearingPoint and JAGGAER, has implemented a tool that allows us to achieve our goals of digitisation, compliance and governance. Thanks to this improvement we can more efficiently involve our supply base, with whom we work daily to pursue these goals.”

BearingPoint provides competitive advantage

Building on its experience in the automotive and industrial manufacturing sectors, in addition to its specialism in sourcing and procurement, BearingPoint adopted a strategic approach to its partnership with Dumarey.

This began with an analysis of procurement processes with a view to digitisation and specific customer needs, such as the need to combine the administrative management of suppliers and their day-to-day quality reporting in a single tool.

For Dumarey, this transformation translates into a significant optimisation of efficiency and compliance, laying the foundations for a supplier management system that prioritises flexibility and transparency, and strengthens its position among leaders in the automotive industry.

"Today, having a clear view of everything concerning one's suppliers is a competitive advantage in the market,” adds Nicolò Masserano, Director at BearingPoint.

“It’s no coincidence that more and more companies are turning to us to implement digital procurement solutions tailored to their needs, such as modernising processes, reducing costs, improving the payment process, optimising the workforce or expanding operations. In fact, digital procurement is a fast-growing market globally and is starting to expand domestically.

“We’re thrilled to have been able to support Dumarey Group on its journey towards streamlining its supply chain.”
