SAP announced Business AI innovations and collaborations with partners including Google Cloud, Meta, Microsoft, Mistral AI and Nvidia at its Sapphire event

SAP has revealed its latest generative AI (Gen AI) innovations and partnerships, highlighting the company’s advancements in AI at the annual SAP Sapphire conference in Orlando, Florida.

The company is integrating advanced Business AI into its enterprise cloud solutions and collaborating with AI leaders such as Google Cloud, Meta, Microsoft, Mistral AI and Nvidia.

Revolutionising business with AI

“The Business AI innovations we’re announcing at Sapphire 2024 will redefine the way businesses run,” says SAP CEO, Christian Klein.

“Today’s AI announcements and partnerships build on our commitment to deliver revolutionary technology that drives real-world results, helping customers unleash the agility and ingenuity they need to succeed in today’s fast-moving business landscape.”

SAP is embedding its advanced Business AI across its enterprise solutions portfolio, providing rich insights directly to users. It includes AI-generated reports in SAP SuccessFactors, offering people managers insights for compensation discussions, and forecasting capabilities in SAP Sales Cloud, predicting the most effective combinations of salespeople and products to drive sales.

SAP’s Joule taking supply chain AI to the next level

Expanding SAP’s Gen AI Copilot

SAP's Business Technology Platform incorporates large language models from Amazon Web Services and Meta into its Gen AI hub. This integration within SAP AI Core simplifies the development of generative AI use cases for SAP applications.

SAP's Gen AI copilot, Joule, is expanding rapidly across the company's solutions. Joule quickly sorts and contextualises data from multiple systems to enhance automation and decision-making.

Initially launched in SAP SuccessFactors, Joule is now embedded in SAP S/4HANA Cloud solutions, SAP Build, and SAP Integration Suite, with plans to extend to SAP Ariba and SAP Analytics Cloud by year-end. SAP also plans to integrate Joule with Copilot for Microsoft 365, offering even richer insights.

Reflecting the growing importance of Business AI, SAP is reaffirming its commitment to the principles of relevant, reliable and responsible AI. At Sapphire, SAP adopted the 10 guiding principles of the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, aiming to ensure AI technologies respect human rights, promote fairness, and contribute to sustainable development.

Forging new partnerships in enterprise AI

Alongside expanded relationships with AWS and Microsoft, SAP announced new partnerships with Google Cloud, Meta, Mistral AI and Nvidia. These partnerships offer cutting-edge AI technologies for rapid innovation and richer, real-world results.

SAP and Google Cloud are deepening their partnership to help enterprises better predict and mitigate supply chain risks, reduce disruptions and maintain optimal inventory levels. Integrating Joule and SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain with Google Cloud's AI assistant, Gemini models, and the Google Cloud Cortex Framework’s data foundation will enhance these capabilities.

SAP will also use Meta’s Llama 3 model to generate scripts for highly customised analytics applications in SAP Analytics Cloud. Meta’s AI model excels in understanding language nuances and context, making it ideal for translating enterprise business requirements into tangible outcomes.

SAP will add new large language models from Mistral AI to the generative AI hub capability in SAP AI Core.

SAP and Nvidia are advancing a cross-product partnership to embed cutting-edge technologies into business applications. As SAP trains Joule to serve as an AI assistant for RISE with SAP implementations, Nvidia’s AI models will sift through SAP consulting assets to provide relevant and precise answers to implementation-related questions.

These advancements and partnerships showcase SAP’s dedication to integrating advanced AI technologies into its enterprise solutions, driving innovation and delivering tangible benefits for businesses worldwide.
