Speaking at Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE, Rolls-Royce’s Benn Godfrey and Capgemini’s Ashley Naughton discuss global supply chain interruptions

April 2022, Procurement Magazine, Supply Chain Digital and Bizclik Media Group returned to the Tobacco Dock (London) to host our second Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE.

Dubbed ‘The Risk & Resilience Conference’ the two-day hybrid event was held on the 27th and 28th of April, featuring keynotes, roundtables, Q&As, and 1-2-1s from inspirational and knowledgeable leaders in the procurement and supply chain space.

Global supply chain interruptions

Speaking on Day 1 of Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE: The Risk & Resilience Conference, Benn Godfrey, Vice President of Raw material and Forming at Rolls-Royce; and Ashely Naughton, Director of Supply Chain Transformation at Capgemini discussed global supply chain interruptions in their joint panel.

During the panel, Godfrey and Naughton discussed a range of topics including:

  • The Suez Canal
  • COVID-19
  • Whether all global supply chain interruptions are negative
  • How to future-proofing the supply chain
  • Whether planning should be technology or people led

“Visibility always helps. It's a key topic. The more you can see, the more you can measure, and the more you can take action. But it’s also important to understand that there are some things that you will never see, and you have to accept that and acknowledge it and maybe start to build more contingency into your supply chain and your sourcing,” commented Godfrey.
