With its Lisbon hub, PG Consulting brings its executive-led, execution-focused model to drive digital transformation across Europe

In a strategic move to redefine the European procurement landscape, PG Consulting has announced the consolidation of its EMEA operations and its Lisbon hub. Driven by the "Executive Pedigree" of its leadership, all former multinational directors, the firm is bridging the gap between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.

With a track record of over 580 successful transformations and a 100% Go-Live success rate in digital deployments like Coupa, PG Consulting is rapidly becoming the partner of choice for organisations seeking measurable results. Led by Leonardo Alexander, the firm is now scaling its unique, results-driven methodology across key European markets.

Helping to drive this European expansion is Raphael Almeida, Partner & Managing Director of PG Europe and Global Director at Procurement Garage. Leading customer value, strategic alliances, and customer success, Raphael brings deep expertise in procurement transformation, digital solutions, and Coupa implementations.

Based between Brazil and Europe, he is actively involved in building PG Europe’s presence from Lisbon and accelerating the company’s growth across key European markets by connecting strategy, technology and execution.

Procurement Magazine sits down with Leonardo to discuss PG Consulting’s strategic expansion into Europe, its Lisbon hub and why the "executive-only" model is the secret to bridging the gap between strategy and execution.

PG Consulting is making significant waves with its expansion into Europe. What was the strategic catalyst behind consolidating your operations in the region and choosing Lisbon as your hub?

It was a natural evolution driven by our clients. We’ve been operating globally for years, but the demand from multinational organisations for a "boots-on-the-ground" European presence became undeniable. We chose Lisbon because it’s a perfect intersection of talent, a vibrant business environment and strategic proximity to the UK, Germany and the rest of the EMEA markets.

It allows us to be agile, responding to local regulatory and cultural nuances while remaining fully integrated with our global offices in Rio De Janeiro, SĂŁo Paulo, Miami, Mexico City, BogotĂĄ, Lisbon, Amsterdam and Guangzhou.

You've often said that PG Consulting is built on "execution." How does your approach differ from the traditional "Big Four" or strategy-heavy consulting firms?

Many firms are excellent at handing over a 200-page strategy deck and wishing the client luck. We founded PG to bridge the gap where most transformations fail: the execution.

We don’t just advise; we implement. Whether it’s a complex Coupa rollout or a complete Source-to-Pay digitalisation, we stay until the system is live and the results are measurable. We view digitalisation not as an IT project, but as a holistic shift in governance, people and processes.

One of the most striking aspects of your firm is your team composition. You don’t hire "career consultants." Why is that?

That is our "Executive Pedigree" pillar. Our team is composed entirely of former executives from giants like AB InBev, Coca-Cola, P&G and Kraft Heinz. When a client faces a supply chain bottleneck or a difficult stakeholder management issue, they aren’t talking to someone who read about it in a textbook.

They are talking to someone who has lived those challenges inside a multinational corporation. It makes our approach incredibly pragmatic and focused on what actually works in the real world.

With the European market currently accelerating its digital transformation, where are you seeing the most momentum right now?

We are seeing a massive push toward transparency and control. Organisations are moving away from fragmented, manual processes toward integrated, data-driven environments. Our expertise in Coupa implementations has been a major driver here. We are currently leading large-scale transformations across the UK, Spain, Germany and Italy.

These companies aren't just looking for new software; they’re looking to modernise their entire operating model to achieve greater efficiency and cost reduction.

PG Consulting maintains a 100% delivery rate on projects reaching Go-Live. In a sector where IT and transformation projects often stall, how do you maintain that standard?

It comes down to strict governance and our global delivery model. Even as we scale in Europe, we use a centralised methodology.

We have well-defined frameworks and checkpoints that every project must pass. Because our local European teams work in lockstep with our global organisation, we can scale resources quickly without diluting quality. We take pride in the fact that when we commit to a timeline, we hit it.

Looking toward the future, what is the long-term vision for PG Consulting in Europe and beyond?

Europe is central to our global strategy. We want to be the premier transformation partner for any organisation in EMEA that needs speed and measurable results. Beyond that, we are looking toward strengthening our presence in APAC.

Our goal isn't just to be a consulting firm; it’s to be the "Garage" where global procurement and supply chain challenges are actually solved. We’re building a legacy of being the partner that companies trust when they need more than just a plan, they need a finished product.
