Fertitta Entertainment has integrated Amazon Business into its procurement strategy to streamline purchasing and achieve a flexible supply chain

Over the course of four decades, Fertitta Entertainment has grown to become a leading dining, entertainment, hospitality and gaming corporation.

With around 600 locations across the US, its iconic brands include Golden Nugget Casinos, Morton’s Steakhouse, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and Rainforest Café. The group also own the Houston Rockets NBA franchise.

Now, the Texas-based organisation has integrated Amazon Business into its procurement strategy in a move designed to streamline purchasing and achieve a flexible supply chain with fast delivery.

Amazon Business acts as a centralised sourcing solution to buy operational essentials. As part of its purchasing model, Fertitta Entertainment gains access to a platform that combines business pricing, extensive product range and fast delivery through Amazon’s business-to-business (B2B) store.

“Our locations really embraced adding Amazon Business to their purchasing process," explains Rick Liem, CFO at Fertitta Entertainment.

"It’s helped us keep up with demand as we grow and respond quickly to urgent needs without losing sight of our budget. We’re able to get what we need quickly, stay organised and make smarter decisions with our spending."

A streamlined buying model

Since its launch in the US in 2015, Amazon Business has grown into a platform that handles more than US$35bn in annualised gross sales. It now serves at least eight million customers worldwide, including 97 of the Fortune 100, 66 of the FTSE 100 and 38 of Germany’s DAX-40 companies.

Fertitta Entertainment adopted Amazon Business as part of its wider supply chain model to simplify procurement across its estate. The organisation is now able to order from a broad network of suppliers while using Amazon’s logistics system to secure consistent delivery timelines.

The approach reduces the risk of operational disruption, particularly in a hospitality environment where inventory turnover is high and service levels depend on rapid sourcing.

"Whether it’s a steakhouse in Chicago or a casino floor in Vegas, operations don’t pause for backorders," adds Brenda Spoonemore, Vice President at Amazon Business. "With Amazon Business, Fertitta Entertainment can get what it needs, when it needs it."

Amazon Business provides tools designed for business use, including multi-user accounts, tax-exempt purchasing options, approval workflows and consolidated invoicing.

The platform also offers features that help users manage stock better by grouping deliveries, which reduces shipment volume and improves predictability for inventory teams.

Consistent control with Amazon Business

For procurement teams in multi-location businesses, centralising purchasing helps create consistency while maintaining the flexibility to meet local site needs.

Using Amazon Business, Fertitta Entertainment gains a unified platform that simplifies how its teams source across the country.

Business Prime membership enhances this model with fast, free shipping on millions of products, plus access to analytics and tools to control spending across different departments or teams. Such controls help large enterprises maintain visibility while supporting decentralised purchasing needs.

Amazon Business also supports customisation through features like Guided Buying. This allows procurement leads to set preferences for approved suppliers or products, helping ensure that individual purchasing decisions align with company policies or sustainability goals.

The platform’s ability to track spending, enforce purchasing preferences and deliver transparency across sites supports large-scale procurement teams with multiple users and shifting operational demands.

Using data and tech to reshape purchasing

Amazon Business applies its parent company’s broader technology ecosystem – including tools from Amazon Web Services (AWS) – to adapt and evolve its B2B offering.

Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a role in simplifying procurement processes, supporting smarter buying decisions with less manual input.

The service offers integrated analytics to help organisations manage procurement performance. From spend categorisation to budget tracking and forecasting, it delivers real-time data for finance and procurement leads to assess and adjust strategies.

Rather than relying on manual or disconnected systems, Amazon Business helps organisations like Fertitta Entertainment maintain purchasing efficiency by combining technology, product range and logistics. As more procurement teams seek to consolidate tools, suppliers and processes, such platforms offer a scalable solution.
