o9's first Gen AI pilot programme enters full-scale production; it will expand to its SaaS, helping to provide improved planning and decision-making

With its first generative AI (Gen AI) pilot programme now in full-scale production with a major telecommunications client, o9, a leading enterprise AI software platform provider for transforming planning and decision-making, will implement it as part of a three-year SaaS expansion.

This will bring more robust Gen AI Large Language Model (LLM) functionalities to improve Integrated Business Planning (IBP), strengthen post-game analysis of forecast accuracy and analysis of constrained part shortages, aided by an AI-powered Digital Assistant comprising AI agents to improve planning and decision-making.

Continued evolution of the Digital Brain

Over 2024, o9 initiated multiple client Gen AI pilot projects with existing enterprise clients that are expected to go into production in Q1 and Q2 of 2025.

The pilot Gen AI programme, built upon the continued evolution of the Digital Brain platform, will include the continued integration of Gen AI-powered capabilities, such as LLM knowledge assistants – which can retrieve information and generate responses to queries – and composite AI agents that are capable of performing complex tasks that assist in cross-functional planning and analysis processes.

It is expected that these will bring benefits for the planning undertaken by enterprises – including a 30% to 50% productivity gain. There is also an increase in the ability to innovate and transform by two to three times. The AI agents improve operational metrics such as forecast accuracy and inventory turns – and reduce expedited freight costs.
