How Microsoft is Powering Deeper Financial Insights

Software conglomerate Microsoft and research company Pitchbook have partnered for a federated Copilot which will benefit both enterprises and customers.
This partnership provides Microsoft 365 users with a more integrated experience by making trusted private data accessible through enterprise-enabled environments.
Chantrelle Nielsen, Principal Product Management for Microsoft 365 Copilot at Microsoft, explains: âBy integrating PitchBookâs high-quality private market data into Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot in Excel, weâre enabling professionals to unlock deeper financial insights directly within the tools they use every day,â
âThis collaboration brings together trusted data and powerful AI to streamline complex workflows, helping users move from questions to decisions with greater speed, clarity and confidence.â
How Microsoft and Pitchbook work together
Through the integration of PitchBook's reliable market intelligence with AI-driven productivity tools, enterprise teams can now leverage specialised data directly within Microsoft 365 Copilot. Users possessing licenses for both services can interact with the PitchBook Copilot agent using natural language to perform complex tasks, such as summarising research, surfacing market insights, constructing models and developing presentations without leaving their Microsoft 365 applications or Copilot in Excel.
âThe value of any AI-driven insight starts with the quality of the underlying data,â says Tom Van Buskirk, EVP of Technology and Engineering at PitchBook.
âPitchBookâs trusted private market data provides the foundation that AI tools need to deliver insights that professionals can rely on. Through our collaboration with Microsoft and integration with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Excel, weâre expanding access to that intelligence within one of the most widely adopted productivity platforms in the world, helping customers move from question to insight more seamlessly.â
Other user benefits include:
- Seamless workflow integration: Access PitchBook insights securely within enterprise-grade AI environments.
- Enhanced data discoverability: Use natural language to surface tailored, actionable insights for deal sourcing, valuation, due diligence and strategic decision-making.
- Security and privacy: PitchBookâs integrations ensure client data remains siloed and fully under user control. AI technologies do not learn from or retain proprietary client data, ensuring that sensitive information is handled responsibly and protected at all times.
Microsoftâs other procurement plans
In 2025, Microsoft shared specifics regarding the procurement for its Fairwater data centre in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. Defined by the organisation as the most powerful AI data centre globally, the facility utilises a closed-loop liquid cooling system in over 90% of its infrastructure to minimise its environmental footprint.
Microsoft recently completed construction of the data centre.
Additionally, in 2024, Microsoft connected with AI-solutions company Orderfox to connect its Gieni AI interface with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Timur Göreci, CRO at Orderfox explains: âCompanies can leverage Gieni AI to fully unlock the potential of Microsoft 365 Copilot, enabling them to act faster and more informed, while simultaneously utilising AI-powered analysis and decision-making processes via Microsoft Azure,â
âWith this, Orderfox continues to strengthen its leadership in the field of intelligent market analysis and sets the course for a future where AI agents support companies both operationally and strategically.â
Platform users are able to tap into concentrated research from inside Microsoft 365, utilising applications such as Excel, Outlook or Microsoft Teams.
