Deliveroo has officially gone live with Coupa, the 'margin multiplier' recognised for driving bold transformation projects.

Rob Turner, Chief Procurement Officer at Deliveroo, shared the news via his LinkedIn profile, telling his network the food delivery business was using Coupa's full source-to-pay suite plus integrated risk management.

He said the move would impact every business unit, in every country where it has activities.

Revolutionary implementation in record time

Deliveroo's switch was designed, built, tested and deployed in just 13 months from the kick-off meeting.

Rob describes this as "a huge milestone and a testament to what can happen when a team rallies behind a bold ambition and vision".

He adds: "What makes this achievement even more impressive is that many of the people involved hadn't worked together before — yet there they were, making critical design decisions side by side. The shared willingness to learn, to collaborate and to push for excellence has been outstanding.

"Most of my peer group will know just how much is involved in a transformation of this scale. So, rather than risk missing anyone out, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a part in getting us to this point — including many who were doing something of this magnitude for the very first time."

Rob thanked colleagues across the business, as well as partners at KPMG UK, Coupa Software and Rossum, for delivering on their promises and making the journey so seamless.

He concludes: "Now the real work begins — helping the business adapt to new ways of working."

The implementation of Coupa's full S2P suite across Deliveroo's global operations marks a significant achievement in procurement transformation. Completing such an extensive project in just 13 months demonstrates the effectiveness of collaborative partnerships and clear strategic vision.

Michael van Keulen, Industry Practice Leader for Procurement at Coupa, adds: "Congrats Rob Turner and team Deliveroo. We are grateful for our partnership and look forward to maximising the value from your spend management process in the years to come."

Joining an elite community of innovators

Deliveroo joins the likes of AkzoNobel, the San Francisco Giants and even Sesame Workshop, which have all enlisted Coupa to automate spend management and enhance productivity.

In the April edition of Procurement Magazine, JoĆ£o Paulo da Silva, Regional President for EMEA & APAC at Coupa, explored why Coupa is being enlisted to drive such transformations. He also explained how the firm helps organisations navigate challenges while preparing for the future of procurement.

At the heart of Coupa's success is its ability to harness the power of big data and AI. With visibility into more than US$7tn in business transactions, the platform provides unique insights drawn from the world's largest procurement community.

This vast pool of data enables Coupa to offer something its competitors cannot: community-driven insights that optimise not just procurement, but also invoicing, payments and ESG goals.

"AI can help us to enhance trend predictions, automate tasks and identify issues at an early stage, ultimately ensuring that businesses are staying ahead and making intelligent decisions," João explains.

Harnessing big data for procurement excellence

Unlike competitors offering isolated tools, Coupa's integrated platform provides organisations with real-time insights to spot and address potential issues before they escalate, ensuring stability in an unpredictable environment.

This comprehensive approach is particularly crucial in today's landscape, where complexity has become the norm.

The platform's ability to combine advanced analytics with the collective intelligence of its user community empowers procurement leaders to optimise their supply chains, reduce costs and make faster, more confident decisions.
