For procurement professionals out there, how would you impartially evaluate a payment provider?

When it comes to payments, procurement professionals need to structure the payments ecosystem in a way that's cost-efficient and reliable whilst keeping the future in mind. Birkett explains that when it comes to selecting a partner "It is important that they have reliability and experience, can integrate with your existing billing platforms and are looking towards the future by leveraging new payment technology like open banking."

What is GoCardless’ value add to the payments strategy of a business on a roadmap to become digital-first?

Completing the hard work of integrating into the ecosystems - and maintaining - over 350 partner integrations, GoCardless operates at speed and gets companies transitioning from legacy platforms to API first in a shorter time.

“We are focused on bank payments,” says Birkett, “It’s cheaper, faster, more secure and gives better outcomes for customers who aren’t payment companies.”
