Beroe has announced its latest platform updates, which combine data, AI and human ingenuity to deliver smarter and faster procurement decisions

AI and data have become increasingly vital in reshaping the procurement industry, improving efficiency, decision-making and supplier relationships in recent decades.

Early data systems began in the 1980s-90s with ERP systems developed by SAP and Oracle. These systems allowed companies to store and manage procurement data in structured databases.

By the early-2000s, procurement shifted towards a more data-driven approach, leading to the explosion of big data and cloud computing, allowing organisations to process larger volumes of data. Alongside this, organisations began to integrate AI and machine learning to harness predictive analytics, risk assessments and supplier management.

Today, AI and data analytics are embedded into autonomous procurement systems. Leveraging AI, organisations are re-optimising sourcing, supplier selection and negotiation processes.
