In this role, he oversees the combined procurement functions of Comcast, NBCUniversal and Sky, focusing on developing strategies to achieve commercial synergies across these entities.
Peter’s career journey
Before joining Comcast in 2007, Peter was Vice President of Global Procurement at Liberty Global, Inc., where he led the company's global procurement strategy.
His career spans over two decades in multinational environments, including senior management positions at UnitedGlobalCom and consultancy firm Nolan Norton & Co.
He holds a Bachelor of Science and postgraduate degrees in Commerce from the University of South Australia, Adelaide.
Industry influence
Peter is recognised for his strategic vision in unifying procurement operations to leverage Comcast's scale effectively.
He and his team lead negotiations for enterprise-wide capital and operating expenses, encompassing hardware, technology, software licenses, professional services and third-party call centres.
Additionally, he oversees the company's supplier diversity initiatives and manages Comcast Cable's real estate portfolio.
Under Peter’s leadership, Comcast has made significant strides in supplier diversity.
In 2015, Comcast NBCUniversal became the first media and technology company inducted into the Billion Dollar Roundtable, an organisation recognising companies that spend at least US$1bn with diverse-owned suppliers. Peter emphasises that diversity within the supply chain provides a competitive edge and fosters innovation.
Vision for the future
Looking ahead, Peter aims to further integrate procurement functions across Comcast's subsidiaries to maximise efficiency and cost savings.
He is committed to enhancing supplier diversity and ensuring that procurement strategies align with the company's broader business objectives.
Peter’s tenure as CPO at Comcast is marked by strategic consolidation of procurement operations and a steadfast commitment to supplier diversity.
His leadership has not only optimised Comcast's procurement processes but also set a benchmark for inclusive sourcing practices within the media and technology industry.
Peter's experience - including having led global procurement for the largest international cable operator - makes him a natural fit for this position [...] He will be a valuable addition to our team, giving us further bench strength to ensure we continue to make smart, disciplined decisions, including how we deliver on our commitment to supplier diversity.
