BP, Nicholas Wright: Digital & the future of procurement

Speaking at Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE, BP’s Nicholas Wright discusses the critical role of digital in navigating complexities in modern supply chains

April 2022, Procurement Magazine, Supply Chain Digital and Bizclik Media Group returned to the Tobacco Dock (London) to host our second Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE.

Dubbed ‘The Risk & Resilience Conference’ the two-day hybrid event was held on the 27th and 28th of April, featuring keynotes, roundtables, Q&As, and 1-2-1s from inspirational and knowledgeable leaders in the procurement and supply chain space.

Digitalisation and the future of procurement

Opening his keynote on Day 2 of Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE: The Risk & Resilience Conference, Nicholas Wright, Digital and Innovation Sourcing Director at BP highlights the disruptive nature of the last two years. “The last two years have shown that it has been business as un-usual.”

When it comes to the future of procurement, Wright emphasises digitalisation’s role in helping organisations to navigate the complexities and challenges of modern supply chains.

“It can drive a more predictive function, it can drive the elimination of low-value tasks, and drive intuitive monitoring, obligations management and payment invoices,” says Wright.

In addition, Wright discusses the use cases for digital and the best practices for implementation.
