Jennifer Moceri, CPO at Google: Innovation and Diversity

Jennifer Moceri serves as the Vice President of Global Procurement and Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at Google.
With a career spanning over 25 years, she has established herself as a global leader in procurement, supply chain management and ESG initiatives.
At Google, Jennifer leads the company's first centralised procurement function, focusing on operational transformation and strategic sourcing.
Jennifer’s career journey
Jennifer’s professional journey began in the automotive industry, where she held various procurement and supply chain roles at companies such as ZF Group, BorgWarner Automotive and Lear Corporation.
Her tenure at Lear Corporation spanned over a decade, during which she advanced to the position of Vice President of Global Purchasing in E-Systems.
She then transitioned to the food ingredients sector, serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer at Tate & Lyle. In this role, Moceri successfully led a global procurement transformation, developing a new operating model and enhancing transparency, which resulted in significant cost savings and elevated procurement's role in the company's strategic planning.
Before joining Google, she was the CPO at Diageo, based in London, where she guided the procurement function towards benchmark performance.
Industry influence
Jennifer is recognised for her strategic vision and commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) in the supply chain. Under her leadership, Google surpassed its 2021 goal of spending US$1bn with diverse-owned suppliers, reaching US$1.5bn.
Building on this success, the company set an ambitious target of US$2.5bn in diverse supplier spend for 2022 and expanded its supplier diversity program globally. Jennifer emphasises the importance of creating an inclusive economy.
Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Jennifer is a prominent advocate for DE&I in procurement. Her leadership extends to mentorship and training programs aimed at empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Through initiatives like the Google Tuck Digital Excellence Programme, the company has supported over 425 diverse-owned business leaders, awarding US$750,000 in scholarships to enhance digital skills and online presence.
Vision for the future
Looking ahead, Jennifer envisions a procurement function that leverages advanced technologies, such as machine learning and AI, to drive innovation and operational efficiency. She is committed to fostering collaborative partnerships that align with Google's strategic goals and societal responsibilities.
Moceri's focus on organisational transformation aims to enhance profitability and deliver increased value to customers while maintaining a steadfast commitment to ethical and inclusive business practices.
Jennifer’s time as CPO at Google is marked by strategic innovation, a dedication to diversity and inclusion and a transformative approach to procurement.
Her leadership has not only optimised Google's procurement processes but has also set a benchmark for integrating social responsibility into corporate supply chains. As Google continues to evolve, Jennifer’s contributions ensure that procurement remains a key driver of value, sustainability and positive societal impact.
We want to help build an inclusive economy that works for everyone. This extends within our company and accounts for the economic impact that we can have when we buy goods and services. That’s why we’re providing access, development and investment in diverse-owned companies through our supplier diversity programme.
