Rick Tellez, Co-Founder of KlearNow.AI, explored supply chain transformation through AI at Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE London 2024

During an engaging keynote, Rick Tellez, Co-Founder of KlearNow.AI, introduced a transformative approach to global trade and logistics management.

Rick outlined how his company leverages AI to enhance supply chain efficiency, making it resilient, transparent and cost-effective.

He began by identifying the prevalent issues in supply chain operations: data silos, asynchronous documents and visibility challenges that lead to inefficiencies.

Rick states: "The backbone of global commerce is supply chain and it’s currently marred by a tremendous amount of inefficiencies.”

KlearNow addresses these problems by integrating unstructured data into a centralised AI-powered platform, enabling seamless data access and management.

Its AI technology digitises data from global trade and shipping documents, bringing it back into systems for real-time analysis.

“What KlearNow has been doing since 2018 is leveraging AI to bring that unstructured data from all your global trade and shipping documents and bringing it back into one centralised platform that gives global multinationals that visibility that they require,” Rick explains, emphasising that KlearNow simplifies the implementation process to minimise cost and complexity.

Simplified adoption and global scalability

One of the significant advantages of KlearNow is its ease of adoption.

Rick explains that companies could begin using the platform immediately, eliminating lengthy implementation processes and high initial costs.

"You can literally take an email from a supplier and start tomorrow," he says, highlighting the streamlined onboarding process.

KlearNow’s platform provides visibility across global operations in real time. Rick shares that some companies have deployed the solution across 45 countries, gaining instant access to all shipment data and documents.

This visibility enables organisations to anticipate disruptions, ensure compliance and make informed decisions.

Rick continues: “It's categorizing those documents; it's labelling them; it's extracting all of the data from it; it gets us all of the important and relevant analytics that we require."

This capability offers insights into everything from tax compliance to capital allocation, delivering value across various organisational functions.

Revolutionising compliance and reporting

KlearNow also addresses the growing need for enhanced compliance and reporting capabilities.

Rick stresses that supply chain leaders must ensure their organisations are equipped to handle cross-border trade complexities effectively.

“Every single field on any of your trade documents is reportable,” he says, describing how KlearNow’s platform supports auditing and real-time financial reporting.

Rick explains the added value of real-time control: “You’ve subcontracted out to 50 different freight forwarders, hundreds of different custom brokers. But who gets you all of that information back in your hands? That’s what KlearNow has done and provided.”

The system offers visibility into potential risks, helping supply chain professionals mitigate delays and prevent unnecessary expenses.

He concludes by underscoring the platform's user-friendliness, ensuring accessibility for teams without technical expertise: "We’ve made it very user friendly and easy AI that people are comfortable with today [...] and make those adjustments as you need.”
