Stephany Lapierre: Transform with dynamic supplier data

Stephany Lapierre, CEO and Founder of supplier data foundation organisation, TealBook, details how procurement can transform with dynamic supplier data

April 2022, Procurement Magazine, Supply Chain Digital and Bizclik Media Group returned to the Tobacco Dock (London) to host our second Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE.

Dubbed ‘The Risk & Resilience Conference’ the two-day hybrid event was held on the 27th and 28th of April, featuring keynotes, roundtables, Q&As, and 1-2-1s from inspirational and knowledgeable leaders in the procurement and supply chain space.

Transform the procurement function with dynamic supplier data

Taking to the stage for a second day, Stephany Lapierre, CEO and Founder of TealBook closed Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE with a keynote on how organisations can transform their procurement with dynamic supplier data.

Lapierre begins her keynote by highlighting the complexities of big data. “We all have a big data problem. It’s a complex challenge that is hard to manage and maintain.”

While many organisations have been making the leap to the cloud, Lapierre warns that “software doesn’t fix data. Just because you have implemented a technology doesn’t mean you will have clean data. You are still dependent on humans maintaining information.”

She explains that in order to drive value and success, organisations need to invest in collecting clean data. No matter how much AI and machine learning an organisation throws at data, if it’s incomplete or unclean the level of value that can be gained from the insights is low, leading to narrow visibility.

“The supplier base is the biggest untapped asset, if optimised properly, it can deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in value, provided that supplier data is dynamic and available across systems and people.”
