Top 10: Procurement Awards 2024

Ahead of Procurement Magazine's inaugural Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards, we take a look at the top 10 procurement awards programmes in 2024

The procurement industry has its fair share of awards ceremonies and initiatives, celebrating the great and the good from across the sector. 

For the first time, Procurement Magazine, in collaboration with Supply Chain Digital, has its own awards coming up later this year. Read on to find out more about the inaugural Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards

Here, we take a look at the top 10 procurement awards programmes taking place in 2024. 

10. Procura+ Awards

The Procura+ Awards reward successful, sustainable, circular and innovation procurements which have led to significant improvements of public goods, services, processes and infrastructure.

Numerous awards initiatives are staged to celebrate innovative procurement

Award categories are as follows:

  • Sustainable Procurement of the Year: Reward procurements which integrate aspects of sustainability, including environmental, economic, circular and social elements
  • Innovation Procurement of the Year: Rewards procurements which use innovative approaches in their purchasing practices, as well as those that foster innovation by purchasing cutting-edge products and services
  • Procurement Initiative of the Year: Focuses on outstanding public procurement initiatives that contribute towards strategic, sustainable, circular and innovation procurement

Winners for 2024 are due to be announced during the 2024 Procura+ Conference in Lisbon on 13-14 March. 

9. Gartner Power of the Profession™ Supply Chain Awards

The Gartner Power of the Profession™ Supply Chain Awards is an annual community-driven recognition programme that inspires supply chain transformation around the globe.

It heralds the breakthrough supply chain innovations which are set to make a lasting impact on the industry.

Key benefits for honourees include:

  • Showcasing supply chain leadership
  • Attracting top supply chain talent
  • Advancing the supply chain profession

The submission period for the 2025 awards will open on 2 September before closing just over six weeks later on 16 October. 

8. ASCM Awards of Excellence

Celebrating both corporations and individuals, the Association for Supply Chain Management’s (ASCM) Awards of Excellence recognise exceptional performance and dedication to advancing the field of supply chain management.

Corporate awards are as follows:

  • Corporate Transformation
  • Learning and Development
  • Making an Impact

And individuals stand a chance of winning in the following categories:

  • Emerging Supply Chain Leader
  • Supply Chain Leader
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion

Winners will be announced during the North America edition of ASCM CONNECT 2024, which is being held in Austin, Texas from 9-11 September.

7. Procurement Success Awards

Recognised as a top-level procurement awards initiative, the Procurement Success Awards is an annual celebration of the most impactful procurement initiatives and best practices.

It's also seen as an opportunity to inspire new ideas, align industry benchmark and drive competitiveness across the industry. 

Since being established, the programme has received hundreds of submissions from 24 countries and regions. 

The entry deadline for 2024 is 31 July, with the judging process to follow before a glittering awards ceremony on 21 Nov. 

6. Supply Chain Excellence Awards

Heading into its 28th year, the Supply Chain Excellence Awards now sets the standard for best practices across European supply chain management. 

The judging procedure process is widely recognised for its thoroughness, delivering valuable insights to entrants through feedback from a selection of esteemed judges, who collectively hold more than 750 years of experience.

Awards include the Supply Chain Visibility Award, Best Use of Robotics and the Customer Service Award. 

This year’s ceremony is being held in The Great Room at Grosvenor House, London, on 28 October. 

5. ISM 30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars

The Institute for Supply Management’s 30 Under 30 list is a recognition programme for emerging supply management professionals. 

It shines a spotlight on outstanding young procurement/supply chain management professionals, heralding them for their passion, creativity and contributions to the sector. 

Nominees are reviewed based on four pillars: involvement in their professional organisation; contributions and achievements in supply chain; professional and personal characteristics; and any other extraordinary factors including community involvement, volunteer work, work-life balance and hobbies.

In addition to recognition, winners stand to receive discounts, mentorships and press coverage, not to mention invaluable inclusion in a network of ISM award winners.

4. European Innovation Procurement Awards

Run by the European Innovation Council, the European Innovation Procurement Awards are aimed at recognising those in the public and private sectors who promote and implement notable innovations in procurement.

The latest edition of the awards features two categories:

  • Innovation procurement initiative: Rewards actions and mid/long-term strategies and action plans that trigger different innovation procurement and sustainable solution and practices
  • Facing societal challenges 'green energy transition': Rewards innovative procurement practices aimed at supporting the green energy transition

Each category rewards winners—to be revealed 20 March—with €75,000, second place with €50 000 and third place with €25,000.

3. CIPS Excellence in Procurement & Supply Awards

The CIPS Excellence in Procurement & Supply Awards shines a spotlight on the exceptional achievements of the best teams and projects in the procurement and supply profession.

It's a programme that celebrates excellence, innovation and the remarkable organisations or individuals in the profession who have made a significant impact.

Run by the Chartered Institute for Procurement and Supply (CIPS), winning an award is seen as the pinnacle of achievement for procurement and supply professionals and teams. Winners enjoy a year-long programme of benefits in recognition of their achievements – and can display the coveted CIPS badge of recognition.

Awards for 2024 will be presented at Grosvenor House, London, on 18 September. 

2. World Procurement Awards 

The World Procurement Awards, in association with Ivalua, are back for 2024, with this year’s ceremony set to take place at InterContinental London at The O2 on 16 May. 

The flagship gong, the Ivalua Procurement Excellence Award, recognises a leading and impactful example of a procurement function creating significant value for the business.

Excellence in this case can be defined as when procurement delivers tangible and quantifiable commercial impact through advanced approaches to spend management.

Last year’s winners included The Kraft Heinz CompanyMars and Johnson & Johnson, among numerous others.

1. The Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards

New for 2024, the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards are being staged during  Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE London later this year. 

Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE London will be held over two days at the Business Design Centre on 24-25 September, with the awards ceremony set to take place on day one. 

This comprehensive programme of awards will acknowledge companies, professionals and projects that have demonstrated exceptional performance, innovation and strategic thinking. 

It serves as a prestigious platform to showcase success stories, inspire industry-wide advancements and celebrate the crucial role of procurement and supply chain in business success.

Awards are up for grabs in the following categories:
