Day two of Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE New York 2024 delivered another day packed full of interesting and engaging topics

Held across 5 and 6 June, Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE New York was a virtual event filled with knowledge and insight for procurement and supply chain leaders in the US and Canada.

The event returned with a hugely successful launch, streamed virtually to attendees. Across two action-packed days, participants had the opportunity to hear from leading industry experts as they discussed AI, sustainability, Scope 3, digital transformation, logistics, risk and resilience, strategic sourcing, and supplier diversity.

Day two promised an exciting line up, and it delivered. Kicking off the day was Mike Schanker, EVP of Strategy at Coupa, who addressed the virtual audience on the topic ‘Conquering Today's Confidence Crisis: Using AI to Manage Through Uncertainty and Change.’

Mike’s keynote addressed the current confidence crisis in supply chain management, driven by rapid and unpredictable changes such as inflation, economic disruptions, and geopolitical challenges.

These factors have increased complexity and pressure on procurement and supply chain professionals, leading to margin erosion. Mike emphasised the need for comprehensive action across supply chain, procurement and finance functions to close the gap between optimal operating models and current practices.

By breaking down silos and leveraging collective intelligence, organisations can better navigate these changes and improve their margins.

This panel delved into the dynamic landscape of procurement and supply chain management in the digital era.

Featuring top executives from Alberta Health Services, the University System of New Hampshire, Lytica, and Aon, the discussion covered leveraging technology, enhancing efficiency, and fostering innovation to drive transformative changes.

Sponsored by ProcessUnity, the Supply Chain Risk & Resilience Panel

Sponsored by ProcessUnity, the Supply Chain Risk & Resilience Panel included Wayne Bell, Head of Procurement & Contract Management at Royal British Legion, Kinga Buda, Head of Procurement at Wasabi, and Matthew Everett, Senior Vice President, Global Procurement at Regeneron.

The trio shared strategies and best practices for mitigating risks, enhancing resilience, and driving transformation in supply chain operations.

For those attending, it was a golden opportunity to gain valuable insights into building sustainable and agile supply chains in a rapidly-changing business landscape.

The panellists emphasised the necessity of a thorough and proactive approach to risk management in supply chains. This involves identifying potential risks, assessing their impact, and developing mitigation strategies to ensure continuity and resilience.

The panel also highlighted the need to leverage advanced technologies like AI and machine learning to predict and manage risks, which is crucial.

These technologies can provide real-time insights and predictive analytics, aiding in more informed decision-making and risk mitigation. Additionally, the importance of establishing strong relationships with suppliers and partners was stressed as vital for building a resilient supply chain.
