Daniel Coe, Chief Procurement Officer at The Coca-Cola Company has been named No.1 in Procurement Magazine's Top 100 Leaders for 2025

Daniel Coe, a well-versed leader in the procurement field, is responsible for managing more than US$40bn in annual spend alongside his role as the Vice Chairman of the Cross Enterprise Procurement Group (CEPG).

Daniel leads The Coca-Cola Company procurement portfolios for agricultural commodities, equipment, logistics, marketing, general and administrative (G&A), IT, procurement analytics and supplier diversity.

In June 2024, he took over responsibilities for leading the company's Supply Chain Services organisation.

To him, his primary priorities in this role are his team, sustainability, digitisation and digitalisation, productivity, stakeholder support, top-level supplier relationships and continuity of supply.

Daniel's career journey

His educational journey began in Singapore, at the Singapore American School, before going on to obtain two degrees. First came the University of Dayton, with a degree from the Business Administration: Marketing, Bachelor of Science. In 1990, he attended the Thunderbird School of Global Management, where he graduated with an MBA in International Business.

In 1993, Daniel started his career, becoming the Marketing & Sales Manager at American National Can & Reynolds Metals Company, which saw him manage the Western USA Sales Region and work as the Marketing Manager for the aluminium can business.

His time with Coca-Cola started in 1999 when he joined as the Procurement Manager for the Metal Packaging Team for North America and Mexico. Before he moved to become the Strategic Procurement Manager of The Coca-Cola Company Pacific Group. In 2008, he was named the CPO of Coca-Cola China Bottlers Procurement Consortium.

In 2012, he left Coca-Cola to join Diageo, where he had a number of roles, rising to the Global Procurement Supply Director. Here, Daniel was globally responsible for supply procurement including packaging, raw materials and logistics. In addition, he was the leader of regional procurement teams covering Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia and Turkey. He was also a member of the Global Procurement Executive Team, having more than 50 direct reports, with spend under cover of more than £1.9bn (US$2.4bn).

He left Diageo in 2017, and a year later, was back at The Coca-Cola Company, where he would start his rise to the role he has today; President, Chief Procurement Officer and Supply Chain Services.

Cross enterprise procurement

Daniel is also the Vice Chairman of the "Cross Enterprise Procurement Group" (CEPG), which is a collaborative procurement model used by The Coca-Cola Company, where various parts of the Coca-Cola system, including bottlers and the company itself, work together with suppliers to achieve shared goals across a large network of markets, essentially allowing them to leverage collective buying power for better deals and sustainability initiatives; it essentially acts as a unified procurement entity for the Coca-Cola system.

Function: To coordinate procurement across the Coca-Cola system, enabling them to negotiate better terms with suppliers and drive sustainability practices across the supply chain.

Scope: Covers a vast majority of the Coca-Cola system volume, spanning over 200 bottlers in numerous countries.

Impact: Allows for better price negotiation, improved access to sustainable materials, and coordinated efforts to meet environmental targets.
