Zip: The ‘Visionary’ for Enterprise Procurement

Just six years on from being founded, Zip now stands alongside the established players in enterprise procurement. From its ability to drive billions in savings for its users, major enterprises including T-Mobile, Dollar Tree, Prudential and OpenAI now use Zip's platform to modernise their procurement workflows.
The leading enterprise AI procurement orchestration platform has been named as a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Source-to-Pay Suites. Zip is the youngest company ever to appear on the source-to-pay Magic Quadrant and the only new globally-deployable vendor added in more than two decades.
The recognition places Zip alongside the likes of SAP and Oracle – companies that have dominated enterprise procurement for more than two decades.
It is another point in the company's rapid emergence as a visionary among these legacy suites by building the only orchestration platform with end-to-end source-to-pay capabilities, where AI agents can operate directly within procurement workflows while enabling a new level of automation and adaptability.
Gartner recognition highlights innovation
Gartner highlighted Zip's Procurement Orchestration platform and recognised the company's strengths in orchestration, innovation and business-user administration. According to the report, Zip's flexible workflow and integration platform offers "advanced capabilities for building integrations right into workflows," enabling "process automation that's difficult to replicate in other S2P solutions."
Gartner also focused on the fact Zip's AI-focused roadmap positions it well for customers with forward-looking AI strategies, as there is "little to no existing tech debt to rework to enable AI."
Rujul Zaparde, Co-Founder and CEO of Zip, says: "For years, enterprises have been running into the same challenge: their procurement processes are constrained by the limits of legacy enterprise software.
"Different solutions have tried to make life under that ceiling more manageable, but none have truly changed the foundation procurement is built on. Our placement in the Magic Quadrant reinforces a shift that's already happening: orchestration is becoming essential to how modern procurement runs. That's why we believe the future of agentic procurement orchestration will include end-to-end source-to-pay capabilities."
Transformative growth and strategic expansion
Zip's placement in the Magic Quadrant follows a transformative year for the company. The platform has generated over US$6bn in savings for customers while managing hundreds of billions in procurement spend across seven million suppliers.
It also announced its Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO). This is the formation of a dedicated team of former Fortune 500 procurement leaders who will work directly with customers to drive large-scale procurement transformation.
The ETO is led by Jason Moore, Head of the Enterprise Transformation Office at Zip, who previously served as Senior Director of Enterprise Procurement at Discover. Jason has assembled a team of seasoned executives who collectively bring decades of experience running procurement at some of the world's largest organisations.
At this year's AI Summit, Zip introduced agentic procurement orchestration – a suite of more than 50 specialised AI agents that autonomously handle tasks spanning finance, legal, procurement, IT and security functions.
Zip's Visionary rank speaks to its growth trajectory rather than just its present capabilities. The company has prioritised R&D investment in fiscal year 2026, building global product and engineering teams across AI innovation centres in San Francisco, New York, Toronto and London.
Over the last year, Zip has released more than 1,200 features, driven by a customer-informed, multi-year product roadmap. With US$371m in funding and a US$2.2bn valuation, Zip has the resources to sustain category leadership well into the future.
"Zip is the only platform in the world that simultaneously provides agentic orchestration depth and source-to-pay breadth – enabling customers to fix intake immediately, introduce AI across the lifecycle, and modernize on their own timeline," adds Rujul.
"After hundreds of enterprise deployments, we have learned that procurement orchestration is the beginning of a journey and not the end. Zip is the only platform that can continue that journey with you."
