How Haleon Empowers Suppliers Through New Net Zero Hub

Haleon has introduced a central hub to guide its suppliers toward sustainability, with a clear focus on improving supply chain resilience and environmental performance.
The British consumer healthcare firm launched this initiative to support its own journey to net zero, while also ensuring its partners have access to the tools and direction needed to decarbonise their operations. The new Supplier Hub serves as both a learning space and a call to action.
The business, known for over-the-counter health products like Sensodyne, Panadol and Advil, positions supply chains at the heart of its environmental strategy. Haleon sees collaboration with suppliers as key to delivering long-term sustainability — not just for itself, but across its global value chain.
Shaping a responsible value chain
Haleon sets out with a mission to improve everyday health while holding itself to high environmental and social standards.
As one of the largest standalone consumer healthcare companies, it operates across 170 countries and manages brands with legacies spanning over 170 years. Despite forming in 2022 from the merger of GSK, Novartis and Pfizer’s consumer health divisions, the company anchors its future in responsible business practices.
This means reducing environmental impact, supporting communities and aligning the entire supply chain with its values. To keep its sustainability efforts transparent and measurable, Haleon uses enterprise metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress across every level of the business.
At the centre of this effort now sits the Supplier Hub — a dedicated space designed to support external partners in understanding and contributing to Haleon's environmental goals. It serves as both an educational tool and a portal to practical resources, including a detailed guidance document outlining sustainability expectations.
"We’ve just launched our Supplier Hub - a dedicated space where our suppliers can explore key elements of Haleon’s Sustainability programme and access practical tools to support their journey," says Chris Low, Head of Sustainability Procurement & Packaging at Haleon.
"At the heart of the Hub is our new Sustainability Guidance for Suppliers document, designed to help partners take action across critical areas including human rights, sustainable sourcing, decarbonisation and more.
"We’re proud to be working together to build a more sustainable, resilient supply chain — and this Hub is a key step forward."
Carbon targets and commercial incentives
As Haleon aims to reach net zero emissions from source to sale by 2040, its suppliers are expected to take concrete steps in line with this target. The company outlines a clear framework, asking suppliers to:
-
assess their carbon emissions baseline
-
set a science-based target
-
shift to 100 percent renewable electricity
-
define a net-zero roadmap
-
cascade decarbonisation across their own supply chains
These expectations aren't optional extras. Suppliers who commit to them not only help Haleon hit its environmental targets but also demonstrate their own long-term value.
To push momentum further, Haleon introduces carbon pricing as a commercial incentive, offering suppliers financial motivation to hit their carbon goals.
This adds an extra layer of accountability and ensures that sustainability aligns with business performance. By putting a price on carbon, Haleon shifts climate action from a moral responsibility to a measurable business priority.
The hub’s portal also supports onboarding for new partners, helping them get up to speed on sustainability practices from the outset. By offering a one-stop space for guidance and expectations, Haleon makes it easier for suppliers to align early and effectively.
Collaboration for supply chain growth
Haleon’s move to involve suppliers in its sustainability mission underlines its wider ambition to build a resilient supply chain capable of delivering economic and environmental growth. Suppliers play a vital role in product development, operations and innovation.
By integrating sustainability into those relationships, Haleon raises the standard for its entire value chain.
The Supplier Hub provides clarity, tools and support for partners to act on climate and social challenges. It helps Haleon meet Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions targets – covering emissions from its own operations, purchased energy and across its supply chain. This full-spectrum approach recognises that true decarbonisation requires joined-up effort.
As Haleon grows its consumer reach, it expects its partners to grow with it. The Supplier Hub sets the tone for that relationship, offering structure, support and a clear direction towards net zero. Through this space, the company builds a coalition of like-minded businesses ready to act.
With brands in medicine cabinets across the world and operations in every region, Haleon sees every supplier relationship as a chance to create long-term impact.
