Speaking at REV2025, newly-appointed JAGGAER CEO Andrew Roszko discusses his first days in the role and details his hopes for the future

JAGGAER appointed Andrew Roszko as its new Chief Executive Officer a matter of days before REV2025.

His arrival came at a pivotal moment, as global supply chains face increasing complexity and demand more resilient, intelligent and agile solutions.

With more than 25 years’ leadership experience in supply chain, SaaS and enterprise technology, Andrew brings both vision and proven execution to the role. Most recently, as Chief Commercial Officer at Descartes Systems Group, he played a central role in scaling the business from US$40m to more than US$700m in revenue, establishing it as a global supply chain leader.

Known for driving strategic growth, customer-first innovation and high-performance cultures, Andrew’s leadership is set to build on JAGGAER’s strong foundation while accelerating its roadmap of AI-driven innovation.

Sitting down with Hany Mosbeh (DON), SVP for MEA and APAC at JAGGAER, in the BizClik studio at REV2025, Andrew details his hopes for the future and gives his key message to both employees and customers.

It’s your second day on the job? Have you had any sleep?

I don’t sleep a lot in general. I’d say about five hours a night on average – and less than that over the last couple of nights.

To start with, let’s give people a good idea of who Andrew is

Fundamentally, I’m an entrepreneur, a builder, a husband, a father. Those are the words that come to mind. Don’t hold it against me, but I’m a software engineer by education – I started as a computer engineer. For some reason, I went on to do a master’s in software engineering. If you asked me now, I’ve no idea why, but I did. While doing that, I founded a consulting business – essentially software development consulting. Through that, I met a couple of guys with a crazy supply chain logistics idea. Initially, it was contract work: I built a product for them to prove it could work. This was 20 years ago. We ended up founding a company called CubeRoute. It was an incredible journey. I built the original product and then we were acquired by Descartes, which is how I got to my former employer.

I thought I’d be around for a couple of years and then move on. But Descartes was going through its own transition and turnaround, and I found an incredible amount of energy in driving that business forward. At the time, it was a fairly small supply chain and logistics business – about US$40m and shrinking. It had no sense product–market fit, no sales team, no CRM. They were just beginning to transition into the cloud. It was very early days.

We were their first acquisition. That was my entry point. We were energised about our little startup and then suddenly we were part of this turnaround situation. It was essentially a re-startup. It was almost worse than a re-startup, because there was a broken brand, no one wanted to do business with them. It was a “re-re-start".

There were some very difficult, grinding years. But what I learned is that it really is all about the people. If I look back on the 50 acquisitions that we done, the best outcomes always came where the people were passionate and diligent – regardless of product-market fit or quality of product. That was a huge learning: to do diligence on the people, not just the product and financials.

Why join JAGGAER?

The people were a big part of it. I’ve followed JAGGAER for a long time – we were a long-time tech partner – so I’ve known the company from the outside. When I started looking on LinkedIn, I saw many people had been here for 10, 15, even 20 years. Considering the acquisition history. Today, the average tenure is eight years, which is double the industry average. Almost half the team has been here five years or more. JAGGAER people might think that’s normal – but it’s not. It’s rare.

Being here at the conference for the first time, you can feel the culture, the sense of family and belonging in the JAGGAER community. The level of expertise and commitment I could see from the outside has absolutely come to life over the last 24 hours.

That was a big reason for joining. Like any business going through change, JAGGAER has had new leaders join. Over the last several weeks, I’ve engaged with them. What I’ve seen is low-ego collaboration, genuine customer-first thinking and a real desire to innovate. JAGGAER is 30 years old, but it feels like we’re just getting started.

On your second day at JAGGAER, what’s your message to the sales team?

I’ve had a lot of feedback from customers. Things aren’t perfect, but overwhelmingly customers are highly engaged, they care and they want things to improve. That’s a phenomenal sign.

Every function in a software business is important, but it ultimately comes down to building product and selling product. I come from a go-to-market background, so my message to sales is: we are here to support you.

There's a tremendous market opportunity for us. We’ve got real IP and differentiation in certain verticals. Selling is about getting into the right level of detail, so our mission – for salespeople and leaders alike – is to remove friction, get into the weeds with customers and partners and create the case for business value and differentiation.

There are lots of reasons. The timing, the moment we’re in. The world has changed materially in the last five years.

I’ve worked in supply chain for 20 years. When COVID hit and chaos ensued, suddenly supply chain was on the news – even Trump was talking about it. My wife, for the first time, understood what I’d been doing for two decades! COVID, post-COVID, tariffs, funding challenges – the world has materially changed.

One thing's for sure: procurement and supply chain and what our customers do and what JAGGAER does has never been more important. I think that’s just going to accelerate. So, that was one compelling reason to join JAGGAER from my perspective.

JAGGAER has grown up through acquisition: roughly, a US higher education business, a northern European manufacturing business and a southern European public sector business. I’ve been through 50 acquisitions myself, so I saw an opportunity to speed up innovation and unify the company – one JAGGAER, one product, one culture.

With my background in R&D, M&A and go-to-market, it felt like a natural fit.

We’re excited to work with you. I saw your energy today on stage at REV in Miami. What are your first impressions?

My first impression is, there’s a real JAGGAER community. Yesterday was my first full day, and I saw the depth of customer relationships and passion. These aren’t always easy conversations, but the energy is genuine – customers care deeply and the JAGGAER team is passionate about serving them.

The work being done in education, the public sector and in innovation is highly impactful. Inside JAGGAER, there’s a real passion to support that mission. It’s been energising.

The positive vibes here are incredible – we were literally dancing backstage this morning! The energy is positive, it feels like we’re just getting started. I’m very much looking forward to the days ahead. But, it has been terrific from my perspective.
