Ivalua NOW 2025: Q&A with Chloe Jansen, Amazon Business

For several years, Amazon Business and Ivalua have partnered to provide enterprise customers with a seamless procurement experience.
By integrating Ivalua’s end-to-end spend management solutions with the full Amazon Business store, the pair enable users to search, compare and purchase items all within the Ivalua environment.
This technology-first approach to empowering organisations to unlock the maximum value of procurement was a key theme at the recent Ivalua NOW 2025 event in New Orleans.
Held over two days in May, the showcase brought together global procurement supply chain leaders to explore innovation, transformation and strategic best practice.
The power of collaboration was widely discussed. To explore the topic in more detail, Procurement Magazine spoke with Chloe Jansen, Senior Manager, Business Development and Partnerships at Amazon Business.
Tell us a little more about your role and responsibilities at Amazon Business
I’ve been with Amazon Business for five years now and I work with partners like Ivalua to streamline the end-to-end source-to-pay process for our customers.
On a day-to-day basis, that means working to develop new solutions that improve how customers find and buy Amazon Business products and automate how they process and invoice through spend management solutions like Ivalua.
How does your longstanding partnership with Ivalua benefit customers and procurement teams?
We’ve been working together for over seven years, focused on improving the experience of our joint customers.
On the purchasing side, we’ve integrated with Ivalua Search 360, which has revolutionised how customers find Amazon Business products within Ivalua.
It means customers can very simply search for whatever they’re looking for within Ivalua, see a list of results that includes Amazon Business and then easily choose and place their order. It makes the buying process very efficient.
We’ve also been focusing on the accounts payable and finance teams. This year we launched e-invocing, which automates the ingesting of invoices into Ivalua and the reconciliation process.
It’s another great example of how we work to make it a lot easier to buy and process from Amazon Business and deliver efficiencies to our customers.
Are there any other projects that demonstrate the strength of the partnership?
One I’m quite proud of is our recent launch of punch-in, a market-leading solution that makes it easier for customers to follow the right processes.
We recognised businesses were struggling with spend leakage, often forgetting to start their journey in Ivalua and ending up on Amazon Business, where they would place orders directly.
That leads to spend not being properly captured and a lack of process and structure.
Punch-in solves this. Very simply, if a user starts on Amazon Business and we recognise them as belonging to Ivalua, we then redirect them back so that they go through the recognised approval processes. We don’t fulfil any orders until we get a PO sent our way.
It really simplifies the process for employees, doesn’t change buying behaviour and ensures teams and businesses are still compliant.
What are your highlights from the event and why is it important to bring procurement together?
It would be remiss to not mention AI. It’s such an interesting space and it was fascinating to hear what Ivalua is doing to leverage AI to further streamline the source-to-pay process.
I think the other answer as to why these events are so important is that it’s really important to see customers face to face. It helps us to hear what their challenges are, understand how we can support them with the joint solutions we have developed, and get ideas as to how we can continue to innovate into the future.
