The company's history

DRÄXLMAIER Group is a global automotive manufacturing company, developing complex wiring harness systems, central electrical and electronic parts, interiors and battery systems. 

It is a systems partner to manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, MINI and Porsche. 

In 1958, Lisa and Fritz Dräxlmaier Sr. founded their new company, ELDRA, in order to fulfill a request to manufacture more than 500,000 wiring harnesses for the new Goggomobil. With innovation and the help of female homeworkers, this order was successful, despite not having a workforce or a production site. 

Shortly after, the company expanded beyond electrical systems to produce the Goggomobil's door panel, moving it towards interior production. 

As vehicles became more complex, DRÄXLMAIER invented customer-specific wiring harnesses and opened the DRÄXLMAIER Technology Centre in 1998.

Since then, the company has gone on to produce sustainable and innovative, light door panels.

Today, it is one of the top 100 automobile suppliers in the world, operating more than 60 sites in more than 20 countries, with 65,000 employees globally.
