Dassault Systèmes: Driving Value Chain Decarbonisation

Dassault Systèmes is a French multinational software company specialising in 3D product design, simulation, manufacturing and related digital technologies. Established in 1981, the company is based in Vélizy-Villacoublay, France, and employs around 25,000 people across 184 offices worldwide.

The company is working towards a fresh new net-zero science-based emissions reduction target for 2050, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.

This work continues to build on the successful achievement of its first SBTi targets ahead of its 2027 deadline, as the company continues on its path to meaningful climate impact.

A new net-zero commitment

Dassault Systèmes has committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2050. As part of its near-term targets, the company aims to cut absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 65.0% by 2035, using 2024 as the base year.

It has also pledged to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions by 66.33% per euro of value added over the same period, along with a matching 66.33% reduction, beyond the minimum required boundary, in emissions from the use of sold products, measured per euro of value added.

This new net-zero commitment builds on the company's success in meeting its earlier science-based emissions reduction targets across its operations and value chain.

In 2025, Dassault Systèmes cut operational emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 35% and reduced emissions from business travel and commuting (Scope 3) by 20%, both ahead of schedule against its 2027 targets.

Furthermore, suppliers accounting for more than half of the company's GHG emissions from purchased goods, services and capital goods have now adopted science-based emissions reduction targets of their own.

These results were driven by initiatives such as achieving ISO 50001 energy management certification at sites covering 91.4% of the workforce, raising the share of renewable electricity used to 93.9% in 2025 and strengthening sustainable procurement practices.

The wider SBTi context

Dassault Systèmes continues to earn strong recognition from the sustainability community for its climate leadership.

The company ranks first in its sector on the Financial Times' 2026 list of Europe's Climate Leaders and tops the software and services industry in the Corporate Knights Global 100.

It also places in the top 2% of the software sector in the S&P Global CSA, holds a Gold Medal rating from EcoVadis and has achieved an "AAA" rating from MSCI.

SBTi remains the global benchmark for credible climate action in the private sector. Dassault Systèmes first announced its net-zero ambition in 2021, ahead of the launch of the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard.

Its newly validated near-term and net-zero targets now build on that ambition, marking the next phase of its science-based climate roadmap in line with the SBTi corporate net-zero framework.
