Procurement Magazine looks at the Gartner ‘Magic Quadrant’ 2026 Source-to-Pay Suites Report
Procurement Magazine looks at why Coupa, Ivalua & ZIP made big gains in the Gartner ‘Magic Quadrant’ 2026 Source-to-Pay Suites Report

S2P platforms function as operating backbones that connect finance, supply chain and supplier ecosystems. The platforms that CPOs select and deploy matter as much as how analysts rate them.

Procurement Magazine examines the Gartner Magic Quadrant 2026 Source-to-Pay Suites Report by analysing platform adoption and use by procurement teams.

The 2026 report includes providers that have held leadership positions in past years alongside companies that have entered the quadrant more recently. Coupa has maintained its position in procuretech, Ivalua serves organisations in certain verticals and ZIP has grown since its founding.

Coupa ranks first for execution among 13 providers

Coupa has been positioned as a leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for three years. In 2026, the company received the top ranking for ‘ability to execute’ amongst the 13 providers evaluated.

Coupa has built its agentic AI capabilities on over US$8tn in spend data generated by its community of users. This data powers Coupa Navi AI agents, which predict supply chain disruptions before they occur, prescribe optimisations based on transaction patterns and execute routine workflows without human intervention. The AI functions without requiring configuration because it draws on data from thousands of organisations.

Coupa has integrated category-led technology into its platform. Coupa Category Strategy connects category plans to sourcing events. Customers report achieving category savings 30% faster, converting strategy into contracted value in weeks rather than quarters.

Coupa's Design-to-Pay experience extends the platform beyond S2P boundaries by connecting Supply Chain Design and Planning with procurement execution. The platform's AI-driven intake capabilities use natural language processing to convert requests and statements of work into purchase orders, reducing manual entry by up to 50% whilst providing spend visibility from the point a need arises.

Coupa Card extends the platform into payments and compliance-as-a-service, supporting tap-to-pay virtual cards and automated reconciliation across more than 30 currencies. AI-powered fraud detection monitors transactions in real-time.

Coupa has operated for nearly two decades. The platform is cloud-native and turns spend data into intelligence across procurement, finance and supply chain. CPOs making platform decisions can access proven scale, ROI that can be measured and AI capability that functions rather than being promised for future releases.

Franck Lheureux, Ivalua's CEO

Ivalua positions itself as an enterprise foundation

Ivalua has been recognised as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Source-to-Pay Suites. Over 500 organisations use Ivalua's S2P solution. The platform architecture delivers infrastructure required for enterprise AI to function.

Vendors are retrofitting AI onto systems built previously. Ivalua's platform was built with a data model, code base and workflow governance across the S2P lifecycle. Agentic AI requires data that can be accessed and integration across procurement processes. Ivalua's architecture provides this foundation.

The platform offers no-code and low-code flexibility. Organisations can activate capabilities as needed and expand coverage as their maturity develops without requiring custom development or systems integration.

Ivalua's 2025 performance shows why the company continues to earn Leadership status. The company achieved 24% subscription revenue growth while maintaining profitability, cash flow and zero debt. The company has expanded to over 1,000 employees across 15 offices. Locations opened in New York, Singapore and Sydney. Ivalua earned 16 Comparably Best Company awards in 2025, including recognition for Best Outlook, Leadership and Culture.

"As organisations look to AI to help them navigate today's uncertainty and improve profitability, their choice of technology is critical to success," says Franck Lheureux, Ivalua's CEO. "Our unified spend and supplier management platform provides the solid foundation for procurement to unlock the promise of AI."

CPOs making S2P platform decisions can access enterprise architecture built for AI from its foundation, financial stability and a record of helping organisations scale their procurement maturity without platform limitations.

Rujul Zaparde, Co-founder and CEO of Zip

ZIP enters Magic Quadrant as Recognised Visionary

Six years after its founding, ZIP has entered Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Source-to-Pay Suites as a recognised Visionary. The company is the youngest to appear in the report.

"For years, enterprises have been running into the same challenge: their procurement processes are constrained by the limits of legacy enterprise software," says Rujul Zaparde, Co-Founder and CEO of ZIP.

"Different solutions have tried to make life under that ceiling more manageable, but none have truly changed the foundation procurement is built on."

Gartner's report praised ZIP's strengths in orchestration, innovation and business-user administration, noting that its workflow and integration platform offers "advanced capabilities for building integrations right into workflows" that enable "process automation that's difficult to replicate in other S2P solutions". Gartner emphasised that ZIP's AI-focused roadmap positions it well for customers with AI strategies, citing "little to no existing tech debt to rework to enable AI".

ZIP's placement in the Magic Quadrant follows expansion designed to support enterprise transformation. The company announced its Enterprise Transformation Office, a team of former Fortune 500 procurement leaders who work with customers. ZIP has prioritised R&D investment in fiscal year 2026, building teams across AI innovation centres in San Francisco, New York, Toronto and London. With US$371m in funding and a US$2.2bn valuation, ZIP has resources to sustain category leadership.

SAP maintains Leadership position

SAP has been positioned as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Source-to-Pay Suites. SAP Ariba solutions and SAP Business Network underpin procurement and finance operations across industries and regions.

SAP Business Network operates as a supplier ecosystem in source-to-pay, spanning more than 190 countries. SAP Ariba solutions deliver functionality across the source-to-pay lifecycle: sourcing, contracting, procurement, invoicing and supplier management. For organisations operating in application landscapes that include multiple systems, SAP provides the openness, security and extensibility required to maintain processes across both SAP and non-SAP environments.

SAP's focus centres on three investment areas: platform modernisation, agentic AI innovation and user experience. A platform update arriving in 2026 will complete the modernisation of SAP's technical architecture. Built as an AI-native architecture, the platform embeds intelligence into workflows to anticipate needs, guide decision-making and automate actions across the source-to-pay process.

Joule, SAP's AI copilot, brings intelligence and insight to source-to-pay. Joule's AI agents automate tasks, support decision-making, enhance compliance and unlock productivity across sourcing, procurement and supplier collaboration.

CPOs navigating complexity at scale can access enterprise-grade infrastructure, the supplier network and a modernisation roadmap that positions the platform for AI-native operations without requiring customers to replace their investments.

JAGGAER focuses on practical AI application

JAGGAER has been positioned as a Leader focused on delivering AI procurement technology that drives improvements across the source-to-pay lifecycle. The platform's approach centres on AI application: leveraging intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, robotic process automation and generative AI across procurement functions from purchase order management and contract management to spend management.

JAGGAER deploys AI capabilities where they improve workflows such as purchase order processing, contract intelligence and spend analysis rather than as features disconnected from operations. The platform delivers time-to-value, reduced procurement costs and ROI from procurement strategy. The platform provides analysis of information from data sources, turning data into intelligence that surfaces information for decision-making.

JAGGAER positions itself as the partner for organisations seeking to optimise procurement processes and build supply chains through AI deployment. The platform empowers procurement teams to reduce administrative burden, overcome business challenges and unlock procurement potential through AI and ML capabilities embedded where they matter.

Santosh Nair, GEP's Global Head of Growth Software

GEP maintains Leadership for second year

GEP has been positioned as a leader for the second year. Evaluated on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute, GEP's Leadership recognition reflects an agentic AI platform built to automate work, solve complexity at scale and deliver value.

GEP Qi functions as the agentic AI-native platform. Vendors add AI features to products. GEP Qi was built to enable procurement and supply chain operations through agentic AI and orchestration agents. Agentic AI requires integration, data and workflows to function. GEP Qi delivers this foundation, enabling enterprises to optimise value, reduce risk and achieve advantage through operations.

"We believe Gartner recognising us as a Leader in this year's Magic Quadrant reflects the strength of our agentic AI platform, purpose-built from the ground up to automate work, solve complexity at scale and deliver value," said Santosh Nair, GEP's Global Head of Growth Software.

That approach translates into capabilities for enterprise clients: efficiency, agility, visibility and intelligence across procurement, purchasing and supply chain functions whilst eliminating infrastructure and support costs that constrain ROI with platforms.
