AI-driven partnership

The collaboration between Rossum and Coupa highlights the vital role of strategic partnerships in enhancing procurement operations.

Just 12 months into their official partnership, both companies have experienced a dynamic evolution in the relationship.

"It's actually super interesting," Tomas shares. "We became official partners a year ago and since then it exploded.

"Clearly, Coupa customers love Rossum and Rossum customers love Coupa."

The alliance recently earned Rossum platinum partner status with Coupa, highlighting the alignment of their cloud-native, AI-focused solutions.

These technologies are particularly appealing to procurement leaders willing to adopt modern, efficient approaches to manage enterprise software in the procurement field.

The value of in-person engagement

Despite Rossum's deep ties to AI and automation, Tomas emphasises the human element's importance in fostering robust business connections, especially in the realm of procurement and supply chain.

Citing a post-COVID-era understanding, he stresses the irreplaceable impact of face-to-face meetings over other forms of communication.

He explains: "Even with investors, if you meet somebody in person, there is something different to it, and it builds some kind of connection that I'm not really able to explain."

This perspective reflects a deeper understanding that personal interactions enhance procurement relations and responsiveness, elements that remote digital communications often cannot replicate.

What next for AI?

Tomas' insights into the long-term potential of AI offer a compelling vision for procurement leaders aiming to innovate their operational practices. Having been involved with AI "since the beginning," he brings a depth of knowledge about its transformation over time.

"I'm so excited that the world has found AI," he says, referring back to his university days when he first recognised AI's potential to reshape business practices.

However, Tomas advises a tempered approach. While acknowledging AI's vast potential, he cautions against inflated expectations: "It will not be immediate. We cannot over hype it, but it'll definitely change the world in the next five to 10 years."

His balanced view is crucial for procurement professionals looking to integrate AI solutions effectively.

As demand grows for efficient, cloud-native procurement solutions, the Rossum and Coupa partnership underscores a path forward for the integration of advanced procurement and supply chain technologies.
