What inspired you to get involved in the event?

The event seems to have drawn both business and supply chain professionals across industries and geographies. The event could be a great one for sharing ideas and best practices across this wide spectrum.

Provide an overview of what your keynote will focus on.

My keynote will be titled Uncertainty and Supply Chain.

The last few years have defined how uncertainties of various types – health, geopolitical, climate change and political changes have brought into focus the supply chain industry.

It has also shown how Supply chain functions have responded to these changes. The rules with which the games were played earlier are being rewritten with many new ones. If anything, the intensity of this uncertainty continues to grow rapidly. And the supply chain function has to once again rise to come up with the most efficient solutions that will be acceptable to the business situation.

In my talk, I will share a synopsis of these changes and potential pathways. And now with the latest reciprocal tariff development, the world is entering into a new world order.

The rules by which the game was being played for decades are now being over written, unilaterally, overnight. Governments, business leaders and supply chain professionals around the world have to come out with action plans for this new world order.

A new world order where new partnerships will be formed. A new world order where we may see China emerging, possibly stronger and gaining the support of many in the southern hemisphere, especially.

The views and opinions expressed during the event are in DK's personal capacity.

What do you hope to achieve through the event?

I hope to share my thoughts on how uncertainty can become an opportunity or risk if not managed well. As well as what could be the key ingredients to succeed in such a flux environment.

I hope that the recent past uncertainty and the constantly evolving turn of events provide a great opportunity for the professionals of supply chain to move from a support function to one of the core functions of the business, driving a competitive advantage.

What emerging trends do you believe will shape the future of procurement and supply chain over the next decade?

I expect the future of procurement and supply chain will be built on a more flexible template, with tremendous scalability.

This will be critical to withstand the sudden changes in the operating environment. I also expect AI to significantly change the way procurement is done to make it more real-time data capture and transmitted across the various layers of supply chain in much quicker fashion.
