Held at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Copenhagen, the ProcureCon Indirect Europe 2019 conference will take place tomorrow (April 2-3, 2019) and feature the leading minds from the global procurement space.

Here are three of the industry thought leaders sharing their insight at the event.

Jan Fokke Van Den Bosch, CPO, HSBC

Jan Fokke Van Den Bosch is responsible for the global procurement department at HSBC, a role he has held since March 2016, overseeing a team of 800 onshore and 600 offshore.

He is scheduled to give an opening address at nine AM on Tuesday, which will welcome attendees and cover the subjects: How can you create a business to business environment? How can procurement facilitate the role of digital buying to ensure faster, and better cost benefits? How can you make your procurement function more strategic? And how can transparency across the business improve your buying power?

Marco Romano, Chief Procurement Data & Analytics Officer, IBM

With over 20 years experience in the procurement space, Romano is responsible for the global procurement data, analytics and cognitive strategy and implementation.

He is scheduled to speak on Tuesday morning, giving a presentation on ways in which procurement officers can influence their stakeholders to see procurement as a value generator that makes the right new investments to achieve business excellence whilst driving cost-savings.

Michelle Baker, CPO, KPN

Baker joined KPN, a market-leading ICT and telecommunications firm in the Netherlands, in 2017, where her role focuses on increasing the value procurement brings to the company. She was recently listed as ‘One To Watch’ on Supply Management’s Procurement Power List, and is on the ProcureCon Indirect 2019 Advisory Board.

Baker is scheduled to speak at two presentations on Tuesday, covering “Winning the hearts and minds of your business”, and “becoming a life-long learner”,

LogicSource, a Procurement Services and Technology provider, launches a Procurement Council which aims to “elevate the brand of sourcing and procurement"

LogicSource, a purpose-built Procurement Services and Technology provider focused exclusively on indirect, or not-for-resale, expenditures has announced the launch of the LogicSource Procurement Council which aims to “elevate the brand of sourcing and procurement”

LogicSource focuses on goods and services not-for-resale, which typically represent 20% of a company’s revenue and hold great opportunities for improved buying efficiencies.

The LogicSource Procurement Council is an invite-only “Community of Practice” (CoP) for like-minded sourcing and procurement practitioners and leaders looking to discuss industry trends, technologies and market intelligence.

The member-led council will cover topics such as supplier diversity & inclusion, forging relationships between CPOs and CFOs, and leveraging new and innovative Procurement technologies. Current members consist of industry veterans from leading brands such as IBM, Nordstrom, Target, and 21st Century Fox.

“The pace of change in the procurement industry is accelerating daily, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for industry leaders to stay up to speed on the latest trends and technology,” said Sam Vail, managing partner of LogicSource’s OneMarket technology solution.

“The LogicSource Procurement Council is an opportunity to bring together like-minded professionals to address critical procurement challenges and discuss important strategies to overcome barriers and elevate procurement’s critical role in business operations. It’s our mission to provide our members with the market intelligence, best practices and technologies they need to reduce costs, empower their procurement teams, and demonstrate their value to stakeholders”.

Membership benefits include:

  • leadership and networking events
  • ad-hoc sessions with LogicSource experts
  • a complimentary instance of LogicSource’s OneMarket Portfolio sourcing project management software
  • opportunities for career development
