Stellantis: Strategic Partnerships Powering Automation

Strengthening its commitment to driverless innovation, Stellantis has sourced strategic partnerships with Wayve and Uber. This synergy aims to engineer and launch Level 4 autonomous robotaxi vehicles across London, Tokyo and ten additional global hubs throughout 2026.
The partnership integrates Stellantis’ autonomous L4-Ready Platforms with Wayve’s AI driving systems and Uber’s worldwide infrastructure to produce these AI-driven robotaxis at a considerable pace.
Stellantis is spearheading the design, engineering and assembly of these vehicles, leveraging essential elements from its L4-Ready Platform. This architectural foundation blends high-tech hardware and software to guarantee fluid self-driving performance, placing a premium on reliability, efficiency and the overall passenger journey.
The automaker’s use of its L4-Ready Platform follows a recent partnership with Wayve to integrate its driverless features into the STLA AutoDrive platform, enabling hands-free, supervised Level 2++ driving in various environments. The first vehicle integration is set for a US launch in 2028.
Wayve's end-to-end AI approach will power the autonomous fleet, offering a cost-effective and focused driving experience. These systems are designed to adapt seamlessly across diverse environments and varying road conditions.
To scale operations across diverse markets and connect riders with autonomous journeys, the entire fleet will be launched via Uber's international network.

Stellantis’ major investment
Stellantis pledged US$13bn in 2025 to be deployed over several years, marking the most significant financial commitment in its century-long history. This substantial capital injection is aimed at bolstering procurement initiatives and establishing new manufacturing facilities across Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.
Through this investment, the automaker intends to broaden its American manufacturing footprint, amplify regional productivity, and introduce a fresh lineup of products tailored to specific market segments.
