Who is Shaun Plunkett?

Plunkett is a supply chain leader with 30 years’ experience. In a pre-COVID world, he spent most of his time at Macmillan Education traveling and meeting local offices across the globe in order to better understand their process and suggest best practices. 

He says: “I pride myself on being a change agent - someone who is invested in improving processes by challenging the status quo and raising the bar for service in whatever capacity I can. 

“I have been responsible for delivering a resilient and agile model based on regional supply and printing hubs with strategic partners in each continent. This strategy has delivered huge savings across freight, packaging, inventory and production.” 

He adds: “The need for reform at Macmillan Education was essential. The operation I inherited was Far East-focused, where a team of 30 would source books and bring them to our single warehouse in the UK, and then ship some of those products out again back to Asia. So you can imagine there were some inefficiencies there.”  

His previous experiences include supply chain operations for Universal Music Group, Harper Collins, Sony Music and Allied Bakeries.
