Kraft Heinz is undergoing a number of structural and leadership changes to improve its procurement process within the food and beverage organisation.

Starting 1 July, 2026, both the procurement and supply chain areas of the fifth-largest food and beverage company in the world will merge under Janelle Aydin, who will serve as Global Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer.

Reorganisation goals

Steve Cahillane, CEO of Kraft Heinz, explains the changes: “We are building momentum across many areas of the business and this regional structure will help us meaningfully accelerate and scale our progress,”

“Additionally, combining Procurement and Supply Chain into one central function allows us to more effectively manage our end-to-end value chain and strengthen supply chain resilience.”

As part of these changes, Cory Onell, Chief Omnichannel Sales and Asia Emerging Markets Officer and Flavio Torres, Global Chief Supply Chain Officer, will transition out of their roles. Both will remain with the company as advisors through a transition period.”

The CEO adds: “As a company, we are proving that iconic brands can evolve, scale and win. This new structure positions Kraft Heinz to unlock the full potential of our portfolio and drive sustainable, volume-led growth across our global business.”

Kraft Heinz will also split into three regions which include North America (NA), Europe and Pacific Developed Markets (EPDM) and Emerging Markets (EM).

The new structure includes the following:

  • Combining Asia Emerging Markets and West and East Emerging Markets (WEEM) into one Emerging Markets Region led by Marcel Regis, who will become Regional President of Emerging Markets.
  • Existing European countries included in WEEM will transition to EPDM. Willem Brandt will continue to serve as Regional President of the Europe and Pacific Developed Markets while Nico Amaya will continue to lead North America, including the U.S. and Canada.

Procurement and supply chain changes

Kraft Heinz has made significant changes to its operations, including investing US$600m to improve packaging and cost management initiatives. Packaging remains as a critical procurement focus area due to the company’s goal of improving perishable products.

"So, think resealability. Think about the way it looks on [the] shelf. Think about what consumers want when they buy a packet of cold cuts,” Steve says to WSJ.

"They want it to last well in the refrigerator and have the right level of resealability. Our product wasn't performing at the right level. So we're investing in packaging. That's a big opportunity for us.”

Steve also looks toward world affairs that could alter cost management, including “significant inflation” which could be detrimental because “in our industry we still haven't seen a return to volume growth.”

Janelle, who succeeded Marcos Eloi Lima in 2025, explains her role with Kraft Heinz: “As a leader, my focus is on driving procurement excellence, amplifying business impact and nurturing collaborative relationships with our stakeholders,”
