GEP integrates Microsoft Azure's OpenAI boosting procurement

GEP is a leading provider of supply chain strategy, software and services to Fortune 500 and Global 2000 enterprises, and its successful integration of Microsoft Azure’s OpenAI Service into its flagship software suite is set to have a significant impact on procurement, supply chains and beyond.
The integration enables clients to proactively identify potential risks and optimise procurement and supply chain operations on a global scale.
Leveraging Microsoft's advanced AI solutions, GEP has significantly expedited its software development process, reducing it from months to just a few days.
Through the integration of OpenAI's ChatGPT technology via Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, GEP software now offers a suite of solutions that provides clients with an intuitive interface for data querying, process automation, and decision-making improvements, ultimately driving operational optimisation.
Subhash Makhija, CEO of GEP, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating the AI capabilities from Microsoft are a giant leap forward. She added that this integration provides GEP clients with an intuitive, conversational-based interface, enabling them to derive “actionable insights and improve global procurement and supply operations like never before, unlocking new levels of efficiency and productivity.”
By utilising Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service's generative AI capabilities, GEP can identify operational gaps and risks in supplier contracts and brainstorm innovative ways to optimise procurement and value chains.
Alvaro Celis, Vice President of ISV Sales for Microsoft, emphasised the joint objective of the collaboration, saying, "This collaboration aims to accelerate AI-driven innovation to deliver more efficient and sustainable global procurement and supply chains for our joint customers."

GEP Software is recognised for its extensive adoption in 120 countries, and can now be accessed through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.
The suite encompasses GEP smart, which offers comprehensive features such as spend analysis, sourcing, contract management, supplier management, savings project management, catalogue management, and category workbench.
The suite also includes GEP nexxe, a cutting-edge cloud-native supply chain unified platform.
Microsoft's generative AI capabilities are integrated into GEP minerva, a suite of AI and machine learning (ML) engines that facilitate cross-organisation data analytics and decision support.
GEP Software allows global companies to drive efficiency, agility, visibility and actionable intelligence across procurement, purchasing and supply chain functions, while eliminating infrastructure and support costs, leading to the potential of maximum ROI.
